IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. IELTS is one of the leading English language test and it has been conducted for more than 25 years and it sets the benchmark for English language testing today.

IELTS is accepted by over 9,000 organisations worldwide. Last year, more than 2.9 million tests were taken globally. IELTS is recognized as the most standardized, secure, valid and reliable indicator of proficiency in English for education, immigration and for work related aspects.

IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment through more than 1,000 test centers and locations spread over 140 countries across the globe.

IELTS Test format

There are two versions of the IELTS test:  IELTS- Academic and IELTS -General test. Listening and Speaking are the same for both but with different content for Reading and Writing skill The Listening, Reading and Writing components of all IELTS tests are completed on the same day, with no breaks in between them whereas the speaking test is conducted either before or after the test date.

  • The approximate IELTS test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes
  • IELTS Speaking test : 11- 14 minutes ( Part-1, Part-2 and Part-3)
  • IELTS Listening test : 27-30 minutes ( Additional 10 minutes for transferring answers)
  • IELTS Reading test : 60 minutes ( 3 passages )
  • IELTS Writing test – 60 minutes ( Part-1 : 20 minutes / Part-2: 40 minutes)
  • Batches and Timing for IELTS :

  • IELTS Morning batch – 9.30 am till 1.00 pm ( Monday – Friday )
  • IELTS Afternoon batch - 1:30 pm till 5:00 pm ( Monday – Friday)
  • IELTS Evening batch - 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm ( Monday – Friday)
  • IELTS weekend batch – 9:30 am till 4:30 pm (Sunday)
  • The course duration varies from Crash course, One month and Two month program and the candidates can extend the course as per their specific requirement.
